The Southampton International Boat Show is here, and whether you are new to the world of yacht ownership or a seasoned pro, you will certainly have the time of your life at this year's show. 

Due to Covid-19, last year's show was cancelled; however, this year promises twice the fun for boat enthusiasts and boat owners. So if you are interested in fractional yacht ownership and want to find more about yachts, the Southampton International Boat Show is the place to be. It takes place from 10th to 19th September, and the show opens from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Where Will, the Southampton Boat Show, Take Place? 

The show takes place in the famous Southampton City, and the show's main point of entry is next to the West Quay Shopping Centre. If you are new to the area, there will be visible signage close to the location to make things easier for you.

Who Runs the Southampton Boat Show? 

The Southampton Boat Show is run by British Marine, the trade association for the leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry. It is the place to be for both national and international boat industry brands and companies. If you are a yacht owner, aspiring boat owner or boat enthusiast, you should attend the Southampton Boat Show. How Much Are the Southampton Boat Show Tickets? 

There are various ticket packages available for attendees. Here is a rundown of the ticket prices for the Southampton Boat Show 2021. 

  1. One Day: This ticket is valid for one day, and it includes entry to the show and access to many free attractions and activities.- £26.50 

  2. Monday to Thursday: This ticket can be used between Monday and Thursday and includes entry to the show and access to many free attractions  and activities.-£21.00 

  3. Friday to Sunday:  This ticket is valid for any day between Friday and Sunday and includes entry to the show and access to many free attractions and activities. £25.00

  4. Concessions- This ticket is valid for the following people: Disabled, students, NHS staff, Emergency Services and Armed Forces. The ticket is valid for one day and allows entry to the show and access to many free activities and attractions. You can also get a carers ticket by contacting Southampton Boat Show Customer Service.-£14.00

  5. Two-Day Ticket- This ticket is valid for any two days in the week and allows entry to the show and access to many free attractions and activities. -£36.50

  6. Group- Monday to Thursday- This ticket can be used from Monday to Thursday and allows entry into the show and access to various free attractions and activities. Available for groups of 10 or more. -£18.00

  7. Group- Friday to Sunday- This group ticket can be used between Friday and Sunday and the same rules apply.- £22.50

  8. Children (ages 15 and under) up to 2 children can enter free of charge with paying adults. This ticket allows entry to the show and access to various free activities. - FREE. Any additional children will cost £13.50

  9. Captain’s Club Gold: This is an excellent ticket to get to if you are serious about shared yacht syndication or any other type of yacht ownership. It includes the following: 

  • Private entrance into the show via special hospitality lounge 

  • A glass of sparkling wine or orange juice 

  • Pastries served until lunchtime 

  • Four drink vouchers, use them for house wine, beer, soft drinks and tea or coffee 

  • Entry into private pay bar 

  • Access to the hospitality lounge

  • 3-course luxury meal (high-end Indian food) 

  • 1-hour powerboat experience on a  Fairline Phantom 48 

  • Package cost: £199

  • Note: Kids don’t go free with hospitality tickets

Captains Club Bronze 

This is what you get:

  • Private entrance into the show via the hospitality lounge 

  • A glass of sparkling wine or orange juice 

  • Pastries served until midday 

  • Four drink tokens 

  • Access to private pay bar

Things to Do At the Southampton Boat Show 

There will be lots to do and see at the Southampton Boat Show, explore the Watersports Zone, Dinghy Zone, Classic and Day Boat Zone, Mayflower Park and much more. This is truly a great show for all the family and anyone who wants to mingle with other boat enthusiasts. Watersports Zone

Here, you will experience unlimited board sports activities with the highest quality and latest equipment available on the market. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of promotional prices for canoes, windsurfs, kayaks, paddleboards and much more. 

Dinghy Zone 
The Dinghy Zone is the place to be if you want to see sports and sailing dinghies, trailer boats, cruisers, boat makers and top-notch equipment. There will also be lots of training options available, great for newbies and pros. 

The Southampton Boat Show has teamed up with the Royal Yachting Association to provide expert training and advice to anyone interested in boating. Hang out with pro racers, newbies, yacht owners and much more. 

Classic and Day Boat Zone 
The Classic and Day Boat Zone is the perfect place to be if you want to get up and close and personal with beautiful wooden varnished decks, shiny classic hulls and stunning coloured sales. You will get to see new boat designs and elegant, restored traditional boats. 

This year there will be classic boats on show, such as a restored 1946 Osbourne Day Cruiser and many other attractions on the day. 

Whether you are a boat owner or new to yacht ownership or classic boat ownership, this will be an excellent opportunity to mingle with other boat owners and boat enthusiasts. 

Here, you will find well-known and established boat brands showcasing their products. Seasoned boat pros can find the latest equipment and other items about boating. Also, for newbies, lots of training opportunities are available. Exhibitors will be happy to help and explain anything you don’t understand. 

If you are in the market for a new boat or want to explore fractional boat ownership, you will undoubtedly have a great time here. 

Mayflower Park 
Mayflower Park will house the biggest and most popular brands, Guinness Bar, Quarterdeck Bar and Restaurant, and Ocean Hall. You will also have access to the beautiful Marina from here. This is where true boat lovers and boat buyers congregate. If you are serious about buying a boat as a sole owner or through a yacht share network, this is the perfect place to be.

Mayflower Park is a place for food, drink and entertainment. Head to the Quarterdeck Restaurant and Bar near the waterfront and have a great lunch or dinner with friends and family. The park overlooks the Marina, which is Europe’s largest temporary marina. Here, you can also witness interviews from well-known sailors and water sports personalities and question and answer sessions from boating pros. There will be a few local bands as well for fun and entertainment.

On the Water Zone 
On The Water Zone is the fun zone! Action-packed water sports here, from stand-up paddleboarding to a relaxed afternoon of cruising on the Solent. You can try a boat for free and spend a limited time on the water. Or you can pay extra and spend more time on the boat.

Try sports you have never tried before and experience the Island Scene Cruise, the show’s mini cruise ship. Here, you will also find On the Water Stage, action-packed, fun shows for great entertainment for all the family. 

Show Marina 
The Show Marina is where you will see all the stunning boats on display. In addition, you will get to see global and European boat launches here. Anything from motorboats to superyachts and RIBs, there will be a lot to see here. 

If you want to buy a boat and are interested in shared yacht ownership or even sole yacht ownership, you can feast your eyes on the magnificent luxury yachts here. 

You can request appointments with boat sellers to learn more about what they have to offer. This is undoubtedly the place to be if you are serious about buying a boat. 

Festival Green 
Festival Green is a great place just to relax and enjoy the experience. However, the best time to go is in the evening to enjoy music, great food, drinks, entertainment and much more. 

Community Day 
Community Day usually happens on the last day; here, you will get plenty of exciting opportunities to enjoy watersports, explore historical boats and experience the boating lifestyle from the past right up to the present day. This is a fun day for all the family; this year, it will take place on the 19th of September.

You can also showcase your creative skills by signing up for the Build Your Own Boat Contest. Here, you get to build your own cardboard boat and display it on Community Day. Then, join the Great Southampton Boat Race, where you could get the chance to stand on the podium and show off your trophy. 

Covid-19 Restrictions 
For the safety of the public, there will be Covid-19 safety measures in place. All attendees will be required to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test prior to entry.

The boat show organisers recommend that all attendees wash their hands regularly for at least 20 seconds. There will be hand washing and hand sanitiser stations placed strategically around the show areas. Attendees should also wear face coverings in enclosed areas to avoid spreading germs.
